What is China like?

I'm thinking of enrolling in the Mandarin China Program that my school offers. I'm a junior now, but in my senior year from Oct.2-31st it would require me to live with a host family in Shijiazhuang,Hebei,PR China and study the culture while studying my other courses online. I think it sounds like a cool idea, but I was wondering what China is like....

-the people

-teens

-shopping

-learning

-the food

basically anything.

  2. lots of chinese. lol

  3. I am not Chinese but i have been in china(shanghai). In china language is most difficult..i went with my Chinese friend who from north of china..but even him didn't able to communicate smoothly with people live in Shanghai.once he asked for glass of water..but the waiter serve us hot water...i am sure you have to learn lot before you go to china...

  4. shijiazhuang is a small city near beijing.  The people are nice and hospitable, but rare of them can speak English. Teens there should be more bashful compare with westen teens. About shopping, not too much fashion goods there. Anyway, you will just stay for a short period, good to experiece  it if you are interested.
