I hear so much about this band but I don't know much about them. I watched them perform two songs on The Daily Show and thought it was terrible.

But I still keep hearing about how great they are.

So, I just wanted to know if they really are such a great band and why. And since i don't download music, I would like to checkout their music, what would be a good album to start with?

Thanks

  1. I agree...I personally prefer their first two albums as oppossed to the two newer ones.  The X and Y and Viva La Vida both have good songs but Parachutes and Rush of Blood to the Head are overall great albums.  Great mix of quiet and upbeat and I like their "accoustic" type sound a lot...that and the lyrics are what makes me a fan.

  2. I will answer...

When I first heard them they reminded me of Pink Floyd ~ which, in a world with no new Pink Floyd music is a *very* good thing.

I went onto buy a couple of their albums ~ Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head and like them both a lot. Even got a concert DVD and it's good, too. Bought and then re-sold their X&Y album, so I guess that's when I stopped loving them SO much, and I haven't heard their latest album.

It's all about what you like. You like space music? Then give 'em a try... Parachutes is my favorite.
