  1. He's a gimmick.

Part of the gimmick includes making an *** out of himself in front of a sea of old white people.

  2. Maybe he's the closest thing to a celebrity the pugs can get.

  3. He represents COUNTRY music, a more conservative and traditional fan-base (republicans).  Also, he has the chance to mingle with some of the nation's most influential people and politicians.  I don't blame him.  How cool will that be to tell his children/grandchildren in the future.

  4. Why do you think he has a problem because he is at the RNC?  Because he is black he is supposed to blindly follow Obama?

  5. Country music stars John Rich, Gretchen Wilson and Cowboy Troy are slated to entertain Republicans this week at the national convention in St. Paul, Minn., but apparently not all country musicians are united in their support of the GOP.

  6. I agree with Detleff - straight up gimmick?  I mean really - how ridiculous did that look?  He might as well had been up there dressed in blackface and doing the Charleston, saying, "Yes massa Republicans!"  Gimme a break!
