  4. i studied a unit of it in australia. it was defined as the study of cultural diversity. we looked at cultural similarities and differences among people around the world (marriage customs, kinship, sexuality, childhood as a social construct,etc). to gain info. on these aspects of life anthropologists conduct fieldwork on a particular culture group and write ethnographies(people+writing). eg of question: is adolescence a rebellious life stage due to the nature of it itself (biological determinism) or civilisation (cultural determinism)?? - Magaret Meads research samoa
