What is DNS/DSL ? -Computer error?

every time my internet connection goes or doesn't come on..

it says its because the DNS isn't connected or something ?

please explain what it is ?

  2. DNS stands for Dynamic Name Server, it is an internet address book, and is not stored on your pc, DSL is Digital Subscriber Line, and is used an an internet connection.  

  3. DNS issue could occur because of the specified DNS link being down or something... Any DNS server could be used alternatively... I am running 198.6.1.1 currently on my network... try this.. it might work!

  5. Control Panel> open Network Connections and rt clk on each connection in turn (you may have more than one) and clk Repair. It takes a few seconds and you may have to do it periodically.
