What is Dalston in London like to live in?Is it that really that bad for crime? I've lived in Archway mind...

I have been living in Wood Green and before that I lived in Archway, so I'm accustomed to a bit of dodgyness, but is crime in Dalston worse than those other areas? Is the state of the streets etc worse? What is good about Dalston? What about transport links? Will be househunting again and was considering Dalston or Stokey although stabbings etc are putting me off a bit. Anyone lived there? What did you think? Thanks.

 its great its only bad if u fall in with the wrong crowd.so i dunno y u people r sayin its c**p coz its not....u hav never lived there before so u cant chat c**p.dalston and shoreditch is good but not hackney downs watever.u people r just acting like spoilt tarts.
