What is Dante's inferno?

It's an epic poem about Dante being led through h**l by Virgil

Then he goes through purgatory then paradise, but most people only read the bit about h**l.

Pretty intense, it's where a lot of that different circles of h**l stuff comes from.

It's a book about Dante traveling through the circles of h**l and details what circle of h**l and punishment one gets for crimes or sins committed during life.  He meets famous people like philosophers and writers, etc. on the way.

I highly recommend reading it.  It helps to have a guide that explains some of the archaic words and phrases.
