  1. 1.  You should look it up in your textbook for references: Sustainable development is the use of materials and energy resources that can be replenished within the lifetime of an individual.  For example, oil is not sustainable because it takes millions of years to develop the oil, but trees are sustainable because they can be regenerated within the lifetime of a person, so long as they don't degrade the entire forest (because it'll take longer to replenish an entire forest, as opposed to one or two trees).

    2.  You need to think about it.  Typical american answer is no, because you use energy that comes from fossil fuels, you bring in food that has to be transported w/ fossil fuels.  You can also say that some habits are sustainable, such as walking to school, growing your food using topsoil that you generated using composting, or such things.

    3.  Walk more, use more local stuff, recycle (so that you don't use up the stuff and it can be regenerated better)
