  1. it's the feeling that you have already seen something. You see a scene and it seems strangely familiar, like you have dreamt about it previously or seen the image laid out before you just as it appears.  I don't know why it happens or which part of the brain causes it. But it happens to me ALL the time.

  2. it's when you experience an event in the present but it reminds you of having done it in the past so it feels weird because you remember doing something that you are currently doing and most often it is the first time it's ever happened so how could you be remembering it?

  3. As the others said, it's the feeling that you have experienced exactly the same thing, conversation, etc., before.  It is thought that what causes it is a feedback loop in the brain.  We actually see things visually after our eyes have already seen them.  The processing time creates a very tiny gap.  Sometimes, this can lead to a loop that occurs so fast we are not aware of it, but that is what gives us the feeling that we've experienced it before, because we actually have, just a microsecond before.

  4. i just happened to experience deja vu last night....now THATS weird!....there are different theories on why we experience this....one is that we are recalling parts of dreams which in turn leads us to believe that we are able to predict certain instances...another is that the instance is a fragment that is being remembered from a previous life....that would be for those who believe in reincarnation....another theory is that there is a "misfire" in our brains....sort of like timing on a car....overall i believe that it has been decided that iit is only a phenomenon which will never be fully understood much like esp
