  1. 1. Comets are composed of solids plus ice and have highly elliptical orbits that often extend beyond Pluto. They develop long tails when their orbits are close to our sun and so become visible to the naked eye.

    2.Asteroids are all solid, typically rocky, range in size from one km to 1000km and occur in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

    3. A meteor is a small fragment the enters the Earth's upper atmosphere at velocities of upto 40 km per second, glows brightly and burns out. It does not reach the surface of the Earth. Those that reach the  earth's surface are called meteorites.
