  1. Dill is a plant that grows very tall and has feathery fronds instead of leaves.  When mature it "heads" and develops little oval seeds on the top.  You can buy fresh or dried dill in 2 different forms; dill weed or dill seed.  Dill weed refers to whole or chopped pieces of the feathery fronds.  Dill seed refers to the seed heads.  Generally dill weed is used in sauces, salads and sandwiches as it is more palatable and has a nice flavor.  The seed is stronger, but is not nice to eat.  It is commonly used in pickling.

  2. This is what gives dill pickles their flavor. It is found with other spices.

  3. Dill weed is the name of a herb:

You should be able to get it in the spice/herb section of your local grocery store.

  4. How do you explain a spice?  It is an eatable plant, you can use the seeds as well, guess they put it in dill pickles, rye bread and dill dip, used on fish.

  5. dill weed is herb like

  6. It's something you can find in most produce sections of grocery stores in the US.  I can't really describe it.  It is usually in with the parsley.
