  1. His approaches were very similar in form to what eventually took place in the Civil Rights Movement. The things he said were at the time "radical". If you are writing a paper, the very best way to illustrate Du Bois is by contrasting his teachings with those of Washington and the Tuskegee Institute. Only in that way can it be shown how his ideas deviated from the mainstream.
