What is Dwyane Wade upto?
Dwyane Wade is man who is quite content with his decision by re-signing to his former team Miami Heat. Dwyane seems like the happiest man in the NBA league at the moment, as he has partnered up with his batch mates from the 2003 Drafts, LeBron James and Chris Bosh. The team has set out to make the strongest trio of 2010.
Wade seems to be enjoying his summers already, extremely relaxed. He recently held a charity golf event for fundraising and posed for pictures, while charged a thousand bucks each to play basketball with the fans. Wade stated that he was quite happy about the fact that the hard part was out of his way.
The hardest part was certainly over as he signed a contract worth $107M for six years. Wade showed a big heart as he gave a few million dollars back to his team so they could acquire LeBron James, Udonis Haslem and Chris Bosh, who have been quite close to him ever since he came to the League. He is also out of the hurdle that he got caught on, a few civil law suits have settled, and the long awaited divorce with his wife has finally come through, it has been a tremendous year for Dwyane.
Wade recently told the reporters it is all about looking ahead from here onwards, he said it all seemed so surreal for him and he could not believe the fact that all three of them were walking the hallway together in the same jerseys. He insisted that it was one of the best days of his life, the fact that all three were united after the All-Star game which took place this year, just seemed so unreal to him. Wade said looking, from left to right, at his best friends was just “awesome” and a dream come true.
Dwayne gave a lot of credit in his recent interview to James for finding the team a much needed centre. James helped the team sign on Zydrunas Ilgauskas who announced last Tuesday he would be joining the Miami Heat. Zydrunas has played for more than a decade for the Cleveland Cavaliers and now he has been stolen by the Miami Heat, leaving Cleveland extremely stressed out especially after their star player LeBron James departed from the team. Wade is also excited about a former sharpshooter from Washington Wizards named Mike Miller who has also signed on to the team, Mike is a young player who made more than 45 percent of his 3-pointers in last year’s off-season.
Heat is now the hottest team in the NBA and Wade says that several free-agents have contacted him asking if they have space on the roster, he has a few guys in mind who could take the free spots. Dwyane said, “But it's about putting the right guys in the right situation. Everyone might not have the personality to deal with this. It's got to be the right mix. The locker room has to be right. We've got to be patient to build this team”.
Dwyane also spoke bluntly about the criticism being thrown at James. Recently former basketball player Charles Barkley said that he was utterly disappointed by James decision, because he believes that James is a star and should have taken his team Cleveland Cavaliers to the Finals. He also concluded that LeBron is never going to be the main man in his new team as he has three other players to help him get a hold of the championship.
Wayne countered the argument and exclaimed, "When he got older, he tried to team up with cottie Pippen and Hakeem Olajuwon. Why wait until you're old when you have nothing left in the tank? ... There's just a lot of misconceptions out there about how much talent it takes to win a championship. It's takes at least two, it takes three to really be a dynasty. That's what we want to be."
Dwyane recently told the reporters that that his team will not be the only favourites by next year’s playoffs because Lakers are the champions and are an extremely potent team, so it is understandable that everyone will opt for them because they are the champions after all. He also assured everyone around him that he was not under much pressure and did not want his team to be underneath it as well because they are not running a country, they are just playing basketball and should have fun.
The astral player needs a much deserved rest, and hopefully will get it after the groove will be over when he gets done with a charity basketball game due Sunday.
