What is Eastbourne like?

I am looking for a short break to book for my grandparents to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary next month. I need somewhere which is not on a steep incline or anything like that as my nan can walk too far as she has problems with her spine.

If anyone has been, what attractions is there and would you go again?
