I define economics as study of nature, composition, properties, laws and classification of wealth. In simple words, economics is chemistry of wealth.

Here is the definition I give my students on the first day of class.... I'm pretty tired right now so this is a short version of it

"The study of how individuals and societies  choose to use their scarce resources to fullfill their wants and needs"
