One of many email lottery scams.

In short, a con.  It doesn't exist.

The only "prize" is that potential winners get the chance to have their bank account emptied and have their identity cloned.

Winners send in all kinds of things to get their hands on their "winnings" - bank account details for mythical cheques to be paid into, photocopies of their birth certificates or passports to 'prove their identity', while others are suckered into paying various "administration fees" upfront before the "prize" will be sent out.  All very well, except there is no prize, and only one winner.

95 times out of 100 he is Nigerian and sat in an internet cafe in downtown Lagos.  The other five times he's a Nigerian sat in an internet cafe somewhere else!!

Don't even go there.  If you have an email that says you have "won" anything from any kind of online lottery at all that you have never heard of (and there are thousands doing the rounds - the Yahoo/MSN lottery is one of the more popular variants and that doesn't exist either!) then save yourself the trouble and just delete it.
