  1. It is NOT a street, the street is called Boulevard Saint-Germain. It is a historic district of Paris.

Faubourg Saint-Germain refers to a former sub-borough/suburb (meaning built outside the wall of the St-Germain abbey) of Paris which now corresponds to an area that is for the main part in the 7th arrondissement. The eastern part of it would be the Saint-Germain des Prés district in the 6th and the western part the Invalides/Ecole Militaire district. It houses a lot of embassies and government offices ("ministères"). But the Faubourg Saint-Germain does not exist any more as an administrative district. The church that gave its name to the district is called St-Germain-des-Prés (the oldest church in Paris).
