  1. He's got 2 years left on his current deal and if he played in GB they would pay something like 12-13 million for this season.

If he's traded, his contract is his new team's responsibility and the Packers would not have to pay him any more.

  2. his contract still has til 2010 I believe BUT he has it where he has to approve if he gets traded, this is where the issue is.  He wants to go to the Bears or Vikings but GB doesnt want to send him there, they want him to go to the Jets or Bucs, which he doesnt want to.  Since they both say he needs to not be in green bay its basically a battle of who will sacrifice what they want.  It sounds more like Brett will go to the Bucs since the Pack is hard on not letting him talk to the vikes or bears.  Then agian, this is a drama that changes everyday.  If traded, well when traded, the new team will take all of his contract most likely since he is worth it.

this is what was said about his contract  a few yrs back

his deal, which is thought to be 10 years in length and worth as much as $100 million, was more about fostering the present.

Favre had three years remaining on a seven-year, $47.25 million contract he signed in July 1997 and there was no fear that he was going to fly the coup any time soon. Rather, the Packers initiated an extension so they could gain some valuable salary cap room to avoid purging their roster.

The deal will pay Favre a signing bonus of between $10 million and $15 million, essentially in place of the $6.3 million base salary he was scheduled to receive this season.

Because signing bonus money is prorated over the length of a contract for salary cap purposes, Favre's cap number of $9.47 million dropped radically when the deal was signed.

  3. He has 3 years left, owed $12 million this year, $13 Mil in 2009 and $14 million in 2010. The team that gets Favre is responsible for the money.

  4. No because Brett Farve wants to be traded and he didnt have any more years on his contract and by the way he might go to the tampa bay bucaneers or ney york jets
