It means that the cost of it is £26.00 and £24.00, oh and that's Pounds Sterling, you know the ones with the Queens Head on (no, not the pub). And also written on them is "Bank of England","I PROMISE TO PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND THE SUM OF  x*x POUNDS".
