  1. Most likely SAT/GPA would be those that the accepted students had (the SATs are probably out of 1600):

--Ohio State: The average GPA of an entering freshman at The Ohio State University was approximately 3.6 with an average SAT score of 1203 and an ACT score of around 26-28.

--Michigan State:  Average GPA: 3.59. Average SAT: 1139. Average ACT: 25

--U Michigan: Average GPA: 3.72; Average SAT: 1333

    --U Kentucky: Average GPA: 3.5

--UNC Chapel Hill: Average SAT: 1293; 87.3% had GPA of 4.0 or higher; Average GPA was 4.42 (GPAs are on a 4.0 scale and are the WEIGHTED GPA)

    --USC: Middle 50% SAT: 1950 - 2200; Average GPA: 3.8

--UCLA: Average GPA: 4.2 (weighted); average SAT: 2010 (new SAT)

--LSU: Average GPA: 3.47; Average SAT: 1160; Average ACT: 25

--Tennesse: Average GPA: 3.45; SAT: st scores SAT verbal scores over 500 86%, SAT math scores over 500 87%, ACT scores over 18 99%, SAT verbal scores over 600 39%, SAT math scores over 600 44%, ACT scores over 24 70%, SAT verbal scores over 700 6%, SAT math scores over 700 7%, ACT scores over 30 14%

    --Vanderbilt: Average GPA: 3.75 unweighted and 4.20 weighted; Avg. SAT  683 (M)   669 (CR)   679 (W)

    --Oklahoma State: Average GPA: 3.54

No, unless you're being recruited or are ranked in the state...lots of people play sports.

  2. If you are being recruited for basketball, you can get in with MUCH lower than the averages if you're one of the coaches' top picks. The coach at each school can tell you exactly what you need.
