  1. I am from Germany and I encourage to visit. Depending where you are going, it is nice everywhere. I am from the North, a City called Hamburg, big Seaport, smiler like Seattle, the weather there is warm in the Summer, cool and Rain in the Winter, sometimes we have Snow. We are friendly, open and tolerate a lot of things. But no matter where you decide to go, you will find a lot to discover .

  2. good beer, cold weather, and its also an 80s based culture.

  3. Well Germany is a great Country in my view....I am not of German Origin but i love that country because it gave me much in the past and helped through stages of life. The People are great! if u want to know more about germany just write me at Shahar.Tamneh@web.de or add me at MSN with Royalordnance@web.de ; i would be glad to tell u more about germany.

  4. Germany is beautiful and very very clean.  They have garbage cans on every block to put your trash.  The train system is very effecient and the taxis are mercedes benz's.  The beer is good and touring the castles and just wandering the old cities is interestting fun.  In Rottenburg aub de Tauber there it is still a walled city, and they have a torture museum.  There you can look at crime and punishment thru the years, and understand things like bakers dozen.

It is alot of fun and very interesting.  Hope you go sometime.

  5. Too LIBERAL!!!! The WORST country I have ever seen by FAR for allowing barbaric smokers in public places. These people literally MURDER countless others with their CIGARETTES and somehow (I surely can't figure it out!) believe that their liberal "right" to do whatever they please -- regardless of impact on others -- trumps clear and intelligent health findings. There need to be civilzed laws in Germany!

  6. Well my mom lived there for like 3 years

Don't wear white shoes (tennis shoes) they will make fun of you

they have a rest period every day from like 12-1ish to have lunch and they go to the store once a day to buy fresh food. Their good isnt that great though its mostly meat. If you want very good food go to like France or Italy

The houses are big and they have no closets they have amoires because their taxes are based upon how many rooms they have. They have a fire place in each room to heat just to heat that room. Because its kinda pointless heating every room when you arent using every room.

No one really drives cars, they take taxis ride bikes trollys or trains.

The toliet is in a sepreate room from the bathroom and you don't have a front lawn. The houses are really close. Its like a village with, shops, bakeries, stores, basically all you need.

  7. Good bud, good beer, good music, good clubs.

Overall, I'd say it's pretty awesome.

  8. well its completely different form the US or some other country except most of the european one's. umm the laws are different and sometimes you are looked at wierdly at least I did and im not a wierdo I think but if you really want to know, go ahead and enoy it while your there!

  9. I was stationed in Germany for 10 years with the US Army.  I did alot of traveling there.  Every town is different.  The German people are very nice people.  No, they don't all run around in green felt hats and green overalls.  The shopping in Germany is fantastic.  The weather is just like Pennsylvania, very cold and snowy in the winter.  People do drive fast there, but safer than here in America.  The food is OMG!!!!!!!  There always seems to be a fest of some sort, carnival or fair type of fun.  Christmas time is full of excitment and sidewalf fairs called Christkindelmarts.  The popular drink at Christmas time is Gluehwein, which is a spiced red wine.  You really must visit there, you won't regret it.

  10. First of all, people don't run around in Dirndls and Lederhosen and they do not have these horrific accents that you get from Hollywood movies. (That always gets my goat).

It's actually beautiful there. We have beaches up north and gorgeous mountains down south. Can't top the food really. The industrial areas are not nice, but that's the same everywhere. The cities are generally very modern. A lot of historic buildings are restored, so you get a good mix of old and new. People are people, same as everywhere. Generally they're nice, but you do get the occasional ******. It's very clean - no trash on the side of the highway. Best time to visit is in the summer. There are a lot of parks where you can go on a sunday morning and listen to a concert for free, have a coffee and just hang out.  Great shopping, but pricy ever since the Euro was implemented. In August there are a lot of festivals in many cities and towns (i.e. Mainfest in Frankfurt)... Party party party all night.

You should go visit and find out for yourself :-)

  11. I am German native and I agree with most of the answers. Still, everyone makes their own experiences, good and bad. So if you want to know even more, check this site:

  12. Beautiful.  Germans have a great deal of Gemutlichkeit (hospitality), but they are workers!  They love to play and know to play hard, they must work hard.  My favorite is south Germany near the Alps and lakes.  Yummy Chocolate, too.
