Their choices would be based partially on how the primaries work out.  Hillary would almost certainly pick a male Protestant from the far west if the primaries don't make a choice forced on her.  Edwards is a remote posibility, Obama is completely out as even the Dems won't run a woman and a black on the same ticket.

Giuliani could pick a woman senator, as there are a couple GOP women in the Senate.  More likely to pick someone like Fred Thompson.

Giuliani is favored to win the Republican nomination and Hillary Clinton might clinched the Democratic nomination because of their perceived right stances on critical issues.
