Global warming is mostly about a political phenomena blaming humans for the latest climate trend.  As a geologist, I understand better than most that change is the norm for climate and sea levels.  When it was cooling in the 1970s, those of a particular political bent blamed consumption and petroleum for causing global cooling.  Now people of the same political bent are blaming warming on excess consumption and petroleum on  warming.  There is probably a little bit more science behind the new fad since CO2 is after all a greenhouse gas.  There still is not sufficient evidence to assume that man's emissions of CO2 are going to lead to harmful warming nor is it known whether it is driving the climate.   Watch the number of down arrows I get or on similar answers and you will notice that there is high packed emotion on the issue.  That emotion would not be present, in my opinion, if it were purely scientific.

Global Warming is not true at all.  It is caused b nature, and us as humans do not cause it....

Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans since the mid-twentieth century, and its projected continuation.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-twentieth century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic (man-made) greenhouse gas concentrations"[1] via the greenhouse effect. Natural phenomena such as solar variation combined with volcanoes probably had a small warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950 and a small cooling effect from 1950 onward.

Increasing global temperature will cause sea level to rise, and is expected to increase the intensity of extreme weather events and to change the amount and pattern of precipitation. Other effects of global warming include changes in agricultural yields, trade routes, glacier retreat, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.

Remaining scientific uncertainties include the amount of warming expected in the future, and how warming and related changes will vary from region to region around the globe. Most national governments have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but there is ongoing political and public debate worldwide regarding what, if any, action should be taken to reduce or reverse future warming or to adapt to its expected consequences.

Anybody that opposes it is selfish and stubborn, have some sort of political agenda (they're conservative republicans and feel like its some kind of plot)  or just refuse to believe it because we're the ones behind it all.  Its all bigoted thinking.  Its like all the guys who go on Womens Studies forums and rip it all up when its as simple as wanting the same rights as men. Whats wrong with that?  Whats wrong with caring about the planet/ environment and its future course?  What do you think happens with billions of cars on the road? pollution.  There is endless scientific proof that proves it exists.

Global Warming is not just the earth heating up, it is the accelerated rate of heat and atmosphere levels increasing together. Basically, it is the fact that, although there have been planetary warmings already, the speed of this one is more than ten times faster than ever before, even since the ice ages ended.
