  1. when your local gas provider colors the gas entering your house to make it look more pretty.  Normally they will make it green hence 'green house gas'.

  2. Greenhouse gases (GHGs) are the gases present in the earth's atmosphere which reduce the loss of heat into space and therefore contribute to global temperatures through the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases are essential to maintaining the temperature of the Earth; without them the planet would be so cold as to be uninhabitable.[1][2] However, an excess of greenhouse gases can raise the temperature of a planet to lethal levels, as on Venus where the 90 bar partial pressure of carbon dioxide (CO2) contributes to a surface temperature of about 467 °C (872 °F). Greenhouse gases are produced by many natural and industrial processes, which currently result in CO2 levels of 380 ppmv in the atmosphere. Based on ice-core samples and records (see graphs) current levels of CO2 are approximately 100 ppmv higher than during immediately pre-industrial times, when direct human influence was negligible.

  3. I suffer from greenhouse gas when I pump one out while tending my crops ....

  4. Certain Gases in the atmosphere mainly water vapour, carbon dioxide emitted by fossil fuel, burning, deforestation, nitrous oxide, methane, ozone trap energy from the sun as they warm our world these gases are called greenhouse gases.

  5. Somebody's imagination

  6. Greenhouse gasses are a variety of gasses which reduce the loss of heat into space and therefore contribute to global temperatures. It absorbs infra-red light into the atmosphere.  Greenhouse gases include water vapor, carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), halogenated fluorocarbons (HCFCs), ozone (O3), perfluorinated carbons (PFCs), and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

  7. A few links with some great information that should give you what you're looking for.

  8. CO2, that is carbon dioxide.

  9. Many chemical compounds found in the Earth’s atmosphere act as “greenhouse gases.” These gases allow sunlight to enter the atmosphere freely. When sunlight strikes the Earth’s surface, some of it is re-radiated back towards space as infrared radiation (heat). Greenhouse gases absorb this infrared radiation and trap the heat in the atmosphere. Many gases exhibit these “greenhouse” properties. Some of them occur in nature (water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide), while others are exclusively human made (certain industrial gases). Over time, if atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases remain relatively stable, the amount of energy sent from the sun to the Earth’s surface should be about the same as the amount of energy radiated back into space, leaving the temperature of the Earth’s surface roughly constant.

  10. Ok, green house gas is a gas that is lighter than air, so therefore it rises to the ozone layer and does all the global warmin' stuff

  11. Okay. I'll try to explain it simply, not the c**p that was copied and pasted.

GREENHOUSE GASSES are gasses [like carbon dioxide, methane gas, etc] that go into the atmosphere and make it dense. This means it TRAPS HEAT, like in a greenhouse, where it lets heat in but not out.

This is causing the slowly rising temperature in the world. It is real, anyone who says otherwise is an idiot or a politician.

    THINGS THAT CAUSE IT:

    -Cars

    -Electrical Appliances

-COWS AND SHEEP. When they f**t, they release Methane Gas. This produces more than 14% of the world's greenhouse gasses. That's more than cars!

    -Water Vapour

    -Carbon Dioxide

Some of these, such as Water Vapour, are good greenhouse gasses, as without them, the world would be too cold to live. But all the excess gasses [NO JOKES, PLEASE] are heating up the world.

Also, with everyone manicly cutting down [or burning down, because that's faster to make room for pasture areas] Trees, the carbon dioxide is not going anywhere, because trees breathe carbon dioxide in and give out oxygen.

Because of the heating up, the polar icecaps are melting, there will be a global flood [not everything under, just the small   islands and coasts. It seems no one cares about them.

Well, thaat's all, hope I helped, hope this was simple.

    Ciao
