  1. there is a rather narrow coastal plane on the Pacific side, a mountainous region with many active and inactive volcanoes near the Pacific and more mountains but made of limestone and other sedimentary rocks to the east and then the lowlands of Petan where the Myan ruines  Tikal and others, on the Atlantic side.


  2. There is the Sierra Madre mountain range, which runs north and south, approzimately 100 miles from the Pacific coast. Also, there are about 30 volcanoes in Guatemala
