  1. "Provisioning" is typically how VoIP service providers (VSP) "configure" your VoIP adapter (ATA), remotely.

Many VoIP ATA's are preconfigured to connect to the VoIP service providers "provisioning server" in order to configure, or upgrade your ATA adapter to the latest settings as required by the VSP.  Remote provisioning makes it easy for VSP's to reset, or update, customers ATA's easily around the world by remote connection.

HTTPS (HTTP Secure protocol) is a secure protocol used when connecting between your device and the VSP provisioning server.  This means the connection is secured by encryption to prevent snooping or malicious interception of the connection while upgrades are in progress.

Some companies that have their own IPBX servers, have their servers setup to provision all VoIP adapers in the company that connect to the corporate IPBX server.

In this case, your IT administrator would be the person responsible for configuring and maintaining the VoIP adapter remote provisioning.  Otherwise, contact the person who sold you the system.  They should help you with setting up remote provisioning of your ATA's.
