  1. Chick Peas ground up with other flavorful ingredients.

    Here is a recipe found on yahoo answers:

    HUMMUS

    50mL (1/4 c) water

    250mL (1 c) drained canned chickpeas

    4 mL (3/4tsp) crushed garlic (I add twice as much garlic, but I love garlic)

    25 mL (2 tbsp) lemon juice

    20 mL (4 tsp) olive oil

    50 mL (1/4 c) tahini (can use peanut butter if you don't have Tahini)

    15mL (1 tbsp) chopped fresh parsley

    Add everything into a food processor and process until creamy and smooth.

    Serve with pita bread pieces, fresh veggies and/or crackers for an appetizer.

    You can also use it as a spread for sandwiches. (It is great on pita bread or nan bread with roasted veggies.)

    You can also add roasted red pepper for a fabulous colour and flavour.

    2 cloves garlic—roughly chopped

    14 oz (400g) canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans)—rinsed and drained

    ½ cup tahini

    1 teaspoon sea salt

    PLACE all ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until smooth, scraping the sides occasionally.

    Variations: If you like a spicier hummus, add a small red chili (chopped) or a pinch of cayenne pepper, or try a little cumin for a more exotic variation.

    Tip: Prepare extra quantities of hummus—it can be refrigerated, covered, for up to 1 week and frozen for up to 3 months.

  12. Pureed' Garbanzo beans that are often blended with other seasoning to flavor it. It tastes good. Garbonzos can be foundi n the bean canned isle at your local grocer and most often at your local salad bar. Creamy/pink color that look like a hazelnut in shape. They have a soft potato texture and are very good for you. If you've never tried them, try them on a salad with a lil' ranch dressing........ YUMMY!
