My friends and I are planing to go to some Indian resturant, soon.

Though I've never tried it before. So, can you suggest me which is the best dish (name of the dishes) that I should try. And I also heard that Indian food is really really hot, it's not hotter than Thai food, right? Cause I'm a Thai Chinese, though I don't really eat spicy food. But anyways, any help would be great, thank so much!

  1. Start with a mild chicken curry massala, ask for biriani rice or a plain steam basmati rice. or their lamb curry , It is always accompany with mango chutney and pappadums.ask for their traditional bread the chapati.Start always in the mild  and moderate items so that you can enjoy it. Then after ask for  more strongest items they have and you will see the difference.Indian food are great.enjoy it.

I am not sure about a indian restraunt I am american and work in india . many of the dishes in india is vegeterian and all of the dishes are extremley spicy Curry is very well known if you like Curry then U will probably like indian food. they use alot of Curry, and garlic spices. for me its horrible but you being asian you would probably adapt well to it. I have worked all over asia  finding China and singapore to be the best to places i adapted to the best with the local food . India being the worst. Good Luck.

  3. Indian food is delicious. Try anything on the menu. I guarantee you, you'll love it.

  4. indian cuisine covers a vast number of dishes and styles from insanely spicy to savory and sweet

to avoid the super hot stuff steer clear of vindaloo!

my favorites on the less spicy side are

    lamb khorma

    paneer saag

    samosas of any kind

    anything tandoori

    naan

    papadoms

there are so many options and variations just ask your server for help

  5. if you like peanut paste and oil you are good but if you don't then do go i thought it was strange but try it becuase you should try it

  6. i believee that the best dish is chicken biryani and naan with nihari or kabob, for appetizers, i prefer samosa

  7. Palakk Paneer (spelling?) was great when i still ate dairy. They make some really good potato dishes. I'd suggest going when they have a buffet, so you don't get stuck with something you don't like! A lot of their foods are spicy. They really know how to flavor things up and combine flavors properly. Yum!!!

  8. it's YUMMY

I like masala dosa--a big pancake wrapped around a potato and veggie filling, Chicken tikka masala--a rich yogurt sauce on roasted chicken, or aloo gobi a potato and cauliflower recipe...

the rice is long and fluffy

and the desserts are very sweet and yummy

and have a mango lassi to drink

  9. Try a dish that includes paneer - an incredible spongy little block of cheese.

No one mentioned drinks. Ask for mango lassi, which is mangos and yogurt. Or if it's cold and rainy, get masala tea. It's black tea brewed in milk with mild spices.

If you get a bite of spicy food, sip your mango lassi, or take a bite of naan bread; you'll feel better right away.

Have fun! I wish I could be there to see you enjoy this great new food. :D

  10. Go early for lunch to a good Indian restaurant with a buffet and then you can take a tiny bit of everything and go back if you like something.

Go when they first open for lunch then you know the food has just been set out and you will have a good selection.

I love their flat bread called naan.

Their seasoning is so well balanced and delicious.  You'll like it too.

  11. I am from India. I will tell you, what I would order at an Indian restaurant for my American date. We will order extra plates so that both of us can share dishes.
