What is Irish/UK equivalent of Similac Advance? Live in Canada but going to Ireland for summer.Baby 5 months?

  1. Probably Aptamil or SMA.

    There is another brand Cow&Gate but I know an American girl who had similac with her when she moved here and had to switch and she thought the Cow&Gate was too heavy.

    All the brands have those samll ready made cartons anyway so you could try your baby on each of them.

I had the opposite dilemma....my little one was on Organic Cow and Gate in Ireland.  When we went to America, we gave him Similac, and he was OK.  So, Cow and Gate would be a good equivalent.  You can purchase it in Boots (chemist) and supermarkets.  You will see they have Cow and Gate 1,2,3.  The one that was recommened by my baby nurse was Number 1.  She didn't think Number 2 (designed for 'hungrier babies') was necessary, because many babies at this age will take a bit of baby food.
