What is Jurmala, Latvia like?

what is jurmala latvia like? I am thinking of going there in july or august. Apart from that beach is there much to do? What is the nightlfie like? What is a good hotel?

Unless it has changed a lot in the last six years, Jurmala is still going to be a bit 'Soviet' to most westerners.  There are night clubs in the  town itself, but I couldn't tell you anything about how they are now.  You could always catch a train into Rigs if the night life wasn't to your liking.
