Today, because of the distance from Big cities like  Tokyo or Osaka, people in Kumamoto are supposed to be country men by the people in Tokyo or Kansai area.

In actuality, all people, including city forks living in Kumamoto City and country people around Kumamoto city, are very friendly and good-natured like other Japanese in old days.

Kumamoto also has a great nature like Aso-san, the biggest volcano in Japan, and beautiful Amakusa island.

It is also famous by the beautiful castle which is simbol of Kumamoto.

In short, we can say that Kumamoto is a sort of "home province" of Japan. You will be able to have many nice experiences.

You may not have a chance to looking around Kyoto or Tokyo, but I think you are going to visit very good place to understand real Japan.
