  1. Lactobacillus is a type of probiotic. Probiotics are friendly bacteria that grow in your digestive tract and help you digest your food. They are also important for your body to fight disease, because when you're not absorbing essential nutrients from your food, your body has a harder time getting well.

    Some people take probiotics in capsules if they have digestive problems like gas, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea. One kind is also found naturally in yogurt!


  2. It's a bacterium responsible for the souring of milk. It is also used in the production of yogurt and certain kinds of beer.
