I know they have different currency, but would it be more expensive than the U.S (sorry if this doesn't make much sense)?

  1. It is expensive.

I'm from California but over here studying.

I really like it though, I love the buzz and there are some really peaceful area's in the heart of central london to escape to.

  2. According to xe.com, the dollar is currently about 1.80/1 pound stirling. So yes, it's more expensive. That means shop cheap when you get the chance, or save up enough to spend freely. Marks and Sparks (Marks and Spencer's) is cheapish for groceries/household necessities. I really enjoyed living in London- yes, price of living can kill you, but it's _fun_!

  3. I went there on vacation with my family this year and yes it is more expensive. Personally I wouldn't like to live there but that's just because I'm used to a small town.  It was nice though.

  4. its extortionate to live there. and marks and spencers is one of the more expensive places to buy groceries sheesh.

  5. well london is a vibrant beautiful city with thousands of things to do you will never get bored there. It has so much history and heritage and you can get awe struck just looking at the buildings sometimes it has its problems but then every city on the globe does.

But living in a city like london you have to pay for it and it is the second most expensive city on the planet after moscow in russia.

    hope this helps :)

  6. Yes, the cost of living in London is definitely higher than the U.S.  Public transport, eating out, drinking, shopping are all going to cost you more over there.

That's not to say there isn't lots of great stuff to see, but save up and spend carefully when you're there.
