I am a nurse. But I really want to become a doctor. My friend told me to take the MCATs test and have a try. Is it the test full of questions related to medicine.

  1. No its a test full of what you have learned in you prerequisites and it gives the medical schools an inside look about you.

  2. The Medical College Admissions Test covers biology and organic chemistry (Biological Sciences), chemistry and physics (Physical Sciences) and Verbal Reasoning (a passage-based section that tests reading comprehension and understanding).  It also includes two essays.  Any questions about medicine are purely peripheral (they might ask a question in biology that has to do with a disease, for example, but not because they want to know what medicine to treat a patient with).  You can read more about the MCAT here:  http://www.aamc.org/students/mcat/about/...

To apply to medical school, you need an undergraduate degree and to have covered the pre-requisites (the subjects mentioned above, along with a year of English and usually a year of college-level math).  You also do need to take the MCAT, but you shouldn't do that until you have already taken the coursework.

    Good luck!
