What is MGS4 well it is a spec on a ps3 but whats its function? ?

Cenobia is 100% right. I'm playing this game a lot. Very good. It shows some true PS3 powers. A must-have. That's the main reason I go to bed at 4 a.m., get late to work, etc! :-)))

MGS4 - Metal Gear Solid 4 - probably the best game ever!!! I am with these guys (I even had a Top Contributor" tag until I went on vacation for a week. - stupid Yahoo Answers)

MGS4 is "Metal Gear Solid 4." It's a game made by Konami, and has nothing to do with the PS3's hardware (if that's what you thought).

You may have gotten confused since it is mentioned in conjunction with the PS3 so often. It's just that its one of the biggest exclusives the PS3 has had so far, and the end of the Metal Gear Solid series (a highly regarded Playstation exclusive franchise). MGS4 is also bundled with the 80gb Premium PS3, although they seem to be selling out quite quickly..

It's a great game, by the way. Definitely check it out.
