What is MOST important ,..TEST Cricket series victory or just ODI series win ?

ODI means World Cups and Asian cups and Challenger Cups and so on.

Test means real cricket - but India has no challenge like the Ashes. So it does not concern us. Both have a place in cricket, but ODI is certainly more exciting these days.

A win is a win. idea cup win was like a cool breeze.

It also promoted Dhoni to No.1 in ODI.

Yes, he has been ranked no.1 in the Cricketing World.

both are as important as eachother...for example if india would have won the test series and the odi series people would have looked at the indian team differently...but because india won the odi series and lost the tests it now considered equal...now we cant say that india is the better team than sri lanka and we also cant say that sri lanka is better than india...at the end of the day both formats are still a game of cricket...

so both the test and odi series are equally important...

and this is my opinon u dont have to agree with it...

Test cricket and ODI cricket are so different. They hold totaly different skills, you can not compare these two forms of the game. You can not claim that winning one series is better than winning the other.

Both forms of the game are important for national teams. They each hold different skills, and must be approached in different ways.

Well i can see which one you support lol. Test cricket series or JUST ODI series. It wasn't just an ODI series.

It's a shame Sri Lanka lost however i would be equally disapointed if we won this series with the poor batting performances we gave. Sri Lanka cricket needs to know that we can not carry on having our bowlers win the matches for us. e.g Asia Cup final.

We were outplayed fair and square. An excellent cricket team knows how to apply their cricket ability to any form of the game.

Test series victory is important, so is ODI series victory. Because both require different kind of skills. And Test cricket is the pristine form of cricket, which everyone wants to preserve; means that test cricket is struggling for its existence among the shorter forms of the game.

After all you don't have a Test cricket world cup. The World Cup in cricket is in ODI format. Why don't you just agree that India played better than Sri Lanka in the ODI series?

Test cricket is traditional cricket, so I would say Tests.A test is just that, a test of your skills & endurance, concentration & the will to win. ODIs, while being entertaining can be a hit & miss thing with batsmen going all out to get runs while forfeiting the skills that make test cricket a greater attraction.
