I've been hearing of MSM. What is it? Is it like a multivitamin and what does it do for the hair, and where can you buy it from?

  1. Organic sulphur that is what it is!you can buy it at any health food store and it is greart for inflamation and also i used it for my dogs seizures. It is an organic element.

  2. Methylsulfonylmethane. It is a supplement that can help with inflammation.  You should be able to get it or it in combination with other vitamins/supplements wherever they are sold.

  3. Great place to order online is www.nutritionexpress.com. (Lindberg) I put it in my smoothies.

  4. MSM is a natually occuring sulfur.  It helps the body deal with inflamation among other things.  It is usually found in joint complexes to help with that.

It is not a multi vitamin as it only has one ingredient and it not essential to our exhistance.

If you are wanting something specificly for hair I would buy something that is for hair, skin and nails, not just MSM by itself.  Some products actually have MSM in their products any way so you could be killing two birds with one stone.

If you are losing hair though, you might want to check with your Dr. to make sure its not something serious like a thyroid imbalance or something as that can be dangerous.  And if it is something like that, or just your genetics, there is no supplement you can take that will reverse that.

You can buy MSM from any good health food store, and the staff will be able to tell you more about it and about other hair, skin, nail products they sell.

  5. MSM is an organic sulfur. The MSM source for MSM supplements is often lignin from pine trees, by-product of the wood-pulping industry. Lignin is a molecule in plants that is part of a plant's cell wall.

Food sources of sulfur are as follows: sunflower seeds, garlic, lentils, soybeans, and yogurt.
