What is Make a wish foundation?

What is it I know that they do things for children.But

Im confussed is it a Hospital,Group Of people.ect?

I volunteer with the Make-A-Wish Foundation as a Wish Granter.  Make-A-Wish is a nonprofit org. that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.  The power of a wish is amazing.  It relieves stress and provides hope and happy memories in a time of despair.  Some of the children do pass away, but not all of them will.  Many will defeat their illness and go on to lead normal lives.
