  1. Yerba Mate (Ilex paraguariensis) is a small tree native to the subtropical Atlantic forests of Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina

    I've had the tea before, and it's a bit stoic for me.  But then again, I had to develop a taste for coffee, too...could be I didn't give it a chance.  But it was a bit on the earthy, tree-bark end of the taste spectrum.  Not awful, but if there were other teas available, I'd choose something else.
