  1. Medicaid is a means-tested government program to provide medical benefits to the poor and disabled.  The qualifications differ by state, but generally you must not make more than twice the federal poverty limit.  There are some exceptions to the income limits for pregnant women or families with many young children.  

    The people covered by Medicaid already have coverage.  Most of the universal health care coverage proposals are directed at those people who are above the income limits for Medicaid, but are not covered by private health insurance companies.


  2. I'm not sure about who medicaid, but I beileve that it is mostly the poor and child. Health is widely debated in america. I will not tell that it is a good for america but It seem to work in other countries.

    The pros- better health for everyone. Creates thousand of job across america.

    The cons- Taxes, and billionaire loss some money.

  3. Medicaid is a State supported function that oversees disbursement of funds to cover for medical treatment.  It also covers food stamps.

    To qualify and receive benefits your income cannot exceed a certain figure.

    We have a new hospital opening here.  70% of the revenue it gets come from State supported indigent care.  

    In some ways, universal health care is already here.
