Question:

What is Medicare policy L20286?

This policy is used to reduce Medicare's liability as my secondary payor so that I am now left with hundreds of dollars to pay. Until August 2007, with Medicare as my secondary payor, I had 100% coverage. Medicare has yet to give me a comprehensive answer.

  1. I have never heard of this policy.  Usually when Medicare is secondary, they will pick up the balance of what your primary payer did not pay, as long as their payment does not exceed what they would have paid as primary.

Your deductible and coinsurance would still apply.
