  1. you have to take a qualifying test to get in.

shame I'm not that clever! (I'm dreading my GCSE results on thursday!)

  2. its pointless to join.

  3. You have to take an intelligence test ...It`s for people with high IQ`s ... It`s actually a pile of poo .... and if you don`t know what it is ..I don`t think you`ll get in ...lol

  4. One doesn't just join Mensa.  One must take a qualifying test or subsmit valid results from an approved qualifying test to gain admission.  Contact them at this website:

  5. Look at http://www.bergmandata.com

There you can read about mensa and practise for the test.

  6. It is too easy to get in, over rated and why would you want to?

  7. It's a club for people with high IQs.

On the Groucho principle, I wouldn't want to join a club that would admit people like me!

  8. If you are smart enough then you can join if you pass their IQ test.

I would not advise it though, it is full of pontificating uber bores who drone on and on about nothing at all.

They have these awful "think ins" where said bores try to claim the position of "supreme intellectual thinker" to one up all the others there but talk complete drivel.

    Avoid.

  9. Mensa was founded in 1946, in England. The Mensa Society was formed specifically for intelligent individuals. The aim of Mensa was to create a non-political society free from all forms of racial or religious distinctions, that focussed on exceptional intelligence. All are welcomed into Mensa regardless of background, religion, socioeconomic condition, race, or age.

The name Mensa comes from the Latin word for table and indicates a group of equals sharing ideas, like a roundtable discussion.

Mensa's stated purpose is to identify and encourage human intelligence for the benefit of humanity; to foster research in nature, characteristic and uses of intelligence; and to promote stimulating social and intellectual opportunities for society members.

  10. I joined and found that there was an unofficial website and a magazine, both full of juvenile drivel.  I let my membership lapse.  After a year, I wondered if I had been fair to them.  I rejoined and left again for the same reason.  It seemed to me that the main intention was to raise money.  The more people you recruit, the more money you raise.
