I feel like I was just receiving minimum wage in my clerks job recently at $35,000....which to me was $17.71 an hour.

I pointed out to my boss, today, that the guy who washes our equipment.....that we have to dress each morning as he can't function on his own (no, he doesn't have a known disability)......gets $17.00 an hour and he doesn't have to dress me each morning, therefore I was worth more than 71 cents an hour to him.  Needless to say this afternoon I received a wage rise.

There is always someone earning less than you.  Be greatful for what you receive, the grass is not greener on the other side.........and when the time is right, think about it, get your words right, ensure you are doing your job and can support your claim, then calmly ask for a pay rise.  Minimum wage is what "you" imagine is minimum.........and if you consider $15.00 an hour minimum then aspire to more than McDonald's.

Probably not an answer to your question but good advice.........maybe.

Oh, and I live in Sydney Australia.......and am an adult (some days)......hee hee.
