  1. Eastern Montana is plains, badlands, broken by hills and isolated mountain ranges, and has a continental climate.  Western Montana is similar to northern Pacific coast climate, with milder winters, cooler summers, less wind, and a longer growing season.

Average daytime temperatures vary from 28 degrees in January to 84.5 degrees in July.  Hot weather occurs in the eastern plains.  Summer nights are generally cool and pleasant.

Average annual precipitation is 15 inches.  Eastern Montana receives more rain than the west side.  The mountains of central Montana keep the east side dryer by blocking moisture from ocean fronts.  The mountains receive heavy snowfall and bitter cold temps in the winter.

  2. Average daytime temperatures vary from 28 degrees in January to 84.5 degrees in July

  3. A trucker told me he encountered snow there on the 4th of July.

  4. SEVERE!  Very HOT in the summer, very COLD in the winter! (Why don't you move a little further west, to the west side of the Cascade Mountains? Very moderate and pleasant all year round!)
