  1. We are obligated to respect and obey a moral authority.  Obligated means we owe a debt.  We only can owe such a debt to our Creator who gave us the gift of life and wants us to behave in some particular way.  That moral authority can only be God.


  2. It is a myth used to do evil things by people in power.
