So I'm taking a college class called Mythologies of the World. Today was the first day and for homework she asked us to answer these three questions. So I just wanted to get a few ideas, don't really know what to write. So here are the questions:

  2. well. a myth is an old story containing creatures, gods, talking animals .. etc. Myths can come from all around the world and may have the same animal such as a dragon.

Mythology is the study of these myths, like Nessie from lock-Ness or the abominable snowman in other words yeti, and/or big foot( Sasquatch)

Literature is well i don't really know but its readings, or writing of some sort like stories, or non-fiction, or fiction etc..

Hope I helped, and good luck with your homework.

  3. Myth - an old story

Mythology - The study of these stories

Literature - Books, myths, and other written things

  4. 1.  A myth is a story (usually allegorical) which has little or no basis in fact.

    2.  The study of same.

    3.  Any kind of printed material (including books, leaflets, flyers, etc).

Now seeing I've done your homework... will you do my housework for me?  LOL

  5. 1. A story

    2. A collection of stories

    3. Written works of any kind - books, newspapers, brochures

    Examples:

    1. "How the leopard got his spots"

    2. "The tales of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table"

    3. "The Daily News", "harry Potter" - the books, "Math 101"

  6. 1) A myth is what legends become when new legends are written. Legends contain semi-verifiable figures, myths normally stem from history so far back as to be unverifiable. They are also blown out of proportion by story-tellers retelling again and again. A myth often deals with early attempts to explain the surroundings of the teller and can be seen as an early attempt at science/psychology/etc. Example - The sun rises every morning and sets every evening, we know about rotation of the earth, ancients might not have so made up a story about sky chariots.

    2) Mythology is simply the study or science of myth. Taken a bit more less literally mythology is also the collection of myths particular to a culture, i.e. Norse mythology or Greco-Roman mythology.

    3) Literature is specifically any form of written word. It is often taken to mean 'classics' of writing such as Shakespeare, Dicken or Dumas.

  7. A myth is the beginning of a culture realizing it's place and it's potential.

Mythology is the study of that process and how it defines your inner hero.

Literature is the written word for the opera of the soul.
