  1. Here is a simple grade school answer/analogy.  Hope I don't offend with the simple explanation.

Imagine it as your neighborhood.  You (USA) and your friends on 1st street are afraid of the Thompson (Russia) on 2nd street.  So you and the other houses on 1st street create an organization that is meant to protect those of you in the agreement.  If ANYONE attacks a member of the 1st Street Organization (NATO).  You also begin to standardize your defenses so you all can use each others equipment if needed.

In response to this the Thompson's create the 2nd Street Organization (The Warsaw Pact).  Basically the same as ours, but opposite.

Now stair at each other for 40 years waiting to fight.  Then the Thompson family falls and the 2nd Street Organization ends (Fall of Russia and Warsaw Pact, circa 1990).  Well now old members of the 2nd SO want to join the 1st SO, and the ruminants of the Thompson family is pissed.

    Hope that helps.

Ok, who the heck is giving all the thumbs down in here?  I'm guessing an honest answer as bad these days.

  2. NATO is North Atlantic Treaty Organization, it was formed to combat communism after WW-2. It consisted of mostly Western Europe and US/Canada, but since the Soviet Union broke up NATO is slowly taking in Members closer and closer to Russia which Russia feels threatened as they see this as an aggressive move against them. They invaded Georgia because probably many reasons I've found. 1- Because they wanted to join NATO so Russia seen this as a hostile move against them 2- all the oil pip lines and ports in Georgia are valuable strategically and economically 3- Chechen bases were believed to be set up in Georgian territory (Chechen are muslim rebels against the Russian government that commit terrorist acts) 4- this what I think pushed them over the line is that parts of Georgia were trying join back with Russia but Georgian forces attacked and started killing the resistance and closed off the border to anyone trying to get into Russia. So Russia felt it necessary to invade Georgia to free the South Ossetians from the oppressive Georgians.

  3. The NATO war machine itself needs to be dismantled. It is certainly not a "peacemaker". Its existence will be seen to be a serious threat to world peace and eventually, unless abolished, will trigger World War III.

These so-called "treaties" are just like gangs and like all gangs they increase rather than reduce the risk of conflict.

  4. gasprom likes the land georgia has,it is an excellent gas pipeline route

  5. If France and Germany hadn't stood in the way of allowing Georgia to join NATO, Russia wouldn't be in Georgia right now and none of those people would have had to die.

  6. NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) is a little club formed against the communists when they still existed. It was originally formed so that the Soviets wouldn't invade Western Europe as it would draw in America, GB, etc. Now they say it is to increase wealth and development etc. in countries. Russia is still para though.

  7. U shout understand this. Russia doesn't care Georgia, Georgia wasn't target. U can think like this .. Georgia a Messenger boy who carry a message to Nato from russia.

    They said

    - We are alive, we still had capacity to bite well, do not mess with us

.. because Nato want ex-soviet states for the club like Ukraine and russia feel unsafe  because they ( nato members ) surround they borders with fire power , ballistic missiles etc.

.. without support of ex-soviet states ( satellite states ) russia can't control energy corridors too. As u know middle asia and northern caucasian land full with petrol & gas ( natural ) .. one of the biggest reserves laid there for claiming.

.. as u see Georgia just a messenger, a messenger who carry a message wrote by russians .. that's all.

  8. plz stop quarreling about Russia and Georgia. You didn't see it all and what we see on our TV screens is a total bull$hit

  9. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is an alliance of 26 countries from North America and Europe committed to fulfilling the goals of the North Atlantic Treaty signed on 4 April 1949. In accordance with the Treaty, the fundamental role of NATO is to safeguard the freedom and security of its member countries by political and military means. NATO is playing an increasingly important role in crisis management and peacekeeping.  as you know  nato consists American and  Uropian nationans russia fear America can use Georgia against russia
