  1. Neuromuscular Therapy means the neuromuscular drugs are routienly used during administration of anaesthesia to aloow surgical access to body cavities, in particular the abdomen and thorax, without hinderance from voluntary or reflex muscle movement. These drugs are also used in the care of critically ill patients undergoing intensive therapy, to facilitate compliance with mechanical ventilation when sedation and analgesia alone have proved inadequete.

    i.e., Atracurium, Pancuronium, Succynilcholine, Neostigmine

  2. Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is a very specialized form of manual therapy. A therapist trained in NMT is educated in the physiology of the nervous system and its effect on the muscular and skeletal systems. The Neuromuscular Therapist also is educated in kinesiology and biomechanics and how to work in a clinical or medical environment.

By definition, Neuromuscular Therapy is the utilization of static pressure on specific myofascial points to relieve pain. This technique manipulates the soft tissue of the body (muscles, tendons and connective tissue) to balance the central nervous system. In a healthy individual, nerves transmit impulses (which are responsible for every movement, function and thought) to the body very slowly. Injury, trauma, postural distortion or stress cause nerves to speed up their transmission, inhibiting equilibrium and making the body vulnerable to pain and dysfunction. It is therefore necessary to stabilize low levels of neurological activity to maintain normal function and overall health.

Neuromuscular Therapy is used to address five elements that cause pain:

Ischemia: Lack of blood supply to soft tissues which causes hypersensitivity to touch

Trigger Points: Highly irritated points in muscles which refer pain to other parts of the body

Nerve Compression or Entrapment: Pressure on a nerve by soft tissue, cartilage or bone

Postural Distortion: Imbalance of the muscular system resulting from the movement of the body off the longitudinal and horizontal planes

Biomechanical Dysfunction: Imbalance of the musculoskeletal system resulting in faulty movement patterns (i.e., poor lifting habits, bad mechanics in a golf swing of tennis stroke, computer keyboarding)

  3. Neuromuscular therapy (NMT) is a form of massage. It is distinguished from other types of massage in that a quasi-static pressure is applied to the skin with the aim of stimulating specific areas of skeletal muscle. Often these areas of muscle are myofascial trigger points.

The application of NMT is dependent on several key factors:

        * The location of myofascial trigger points

        * Force has to be applied perpendicular to the skin surface if muscle is to be stimulated).

  4. this is a normal problem of nerves in our body..this therapy is good in improvement in getting the patient at right human body structure.the mussle of brain is week so the function of brain  is working less , not dead. in ayurvedic medicine the treatment of this problem is good .with massage this problem heal fast, and second side massage of all part of body is working very good and easily, but massage is taken by only medical profession  person. and pray to god is first of all, because docter is god
