Question:

What is Numbness in Both Hands a Symptom Of?

My father-in-law has been complaining lately of numbness in both of his hands. He is not diabetic, so it probably isn't neuropathy. His doctor told him he doesn't have carpal tunnel syndrome either. He also told us today that he feels "wobbly" and "shaky", although he seems okay to look at him. I am worried about a circulation problem. He is also on a potent blood thinner, Coumadin. Any suggestions?

  1. if he lives in a cold climate and the numbness is also accompanied by loss of color and coldness, it may be raynaud's syndrome/disease.

regardless of what it is do a search on transdermal magnesium and calcium/magnesium.  you may want to have it give this application a try.  it has a wealth of benefits and cures many ailments and diseases....  most traditional doctors don't know a lot about it because they lack sufficient training in nutrients and diet and tend to overlook it as a treatment....

  2. Sounds like a vague constellation of symptoms to me.  Basically these symptoms can be brought on by any number of conditions including:

    1.  electrolyte (salt) imbalances, such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, or potassium

    2.  high or low blood sugar

    3.  a central nervous system problem such as stroke or spinal cord compression

    4.  a vitamin deficiency, such as B12 or B6

    5.  an infection, such as urinary tract infection or meningitis

    6.  many other conditions that affect the whole body

I would strongly suggest that he visit a doctor, preferably someon who knows his medical history well, who can sort out the problem and treat it appropriately.

In reference to the previous answer, alternative therapies do have a place in medicine, even in today's scientific society, but I would recommend treatments that have strong evidence to back them up either instead of or in addition to alternatives, but not usually without.

Also, remember that a good treatment is never a replacement for a good diagnosis.
