OTC (over the counter) or BTC (behind the counter) medicines are medicines that pharmacies may sell without a prescription.  However, depending on the drug/medicine laws in your country, you may be required to provide the pharmacist with certain details (such as name, home address, etc) before they will be allowed to sell you these medicines.


  2. OTC medicines are Over The Counter medicines such as cold and flu remedies, that don't require a doctors prescription.  BTC medicines are Behind the Counter medicines that usually you get from the pharmacist behind the counter and they require a doctors prescription.
